"He Plays what He Means and Means what he Plays." - Jools Holland
I am excited to announce that this week we present the amazing Ray Gelato at Twickenham Jazz Club.
Ray's influences need no embellishment with his routes in the R&B movement growing into listening to the great Bill Hayley, Ben Webster, Coleman Hawkins and many more Ray developed his own warm-hearted, energetic style.
For 16 years Ray has starred in a sell-out show at The Illustrious Ronnie Scotts Jazz Club and he remains one of the busiest popular musicians on the Jazz circuit. His band The Chevalier Brothers clocks up 200 gigs a year. Ray annually features at The Blue Note Jazz Club in Milan, he has entertained Her Majesty The Queen twice (!), opened for Robbie Williams at The Royal Albert Hall and played by request at Sir Paul Mc McCartney's wedding.
"Awesome Band" - Van Morrisson
In his spare time, he has written a cookbook, started 'Coffee with Ray' and 'Gelato's Parlour Podcast' during lock-down and produced a new album entitled 'Locked down but not out.' Meanwhile, as a musician, he is still obsessed with saxophones, mouthpieces and has breathtaking enthusiasm for life.
I so look forward to welcoming you and the very lovable Ray Gelato and his band to what promises to be a truly fabulous evening @ Twickenham Jazz Club.
We hope you can join us!
